It is hard to believe that March is almost here! This is just a reminder that our next HLA of Knoxville meeting is Thursday, March 12th. Meeting time is at 7 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1001 Ebenezer Road, Knoxville. Sandy Cohen, from the Nashville Deaf & Hard of Hearing Library will be our guest speaker. She will have some great information on how you can access and utilize the services of the library from your home at little or no cost to you! Believe me, this is the best library I've ever seen and they have everything you can imagine for the deaf & hard of hearing. You will not want to miss this informative and helpful meeting. Transcribing services will be provided and there will be time to socialize and greet new members afterwards.
If anyone can volunteer to bring a snack or 2 liter drink, please let Maureen know at danbury103@gmail.com or mdhinds@bechtel.com or Susan Underwood at gotsusantn@gmail.com.
If you are planning to participate in the Walk4Hearing, start asking your friends and family to sponsor you! They can go to the Walk4Hearing website and make a donation under your team name. We will get 35% of the donations for our chapter. This is a great fundraiser and a WIN-WIN situation for HLAA and us! Get creative and send out letters, emails, or Facebook notices!
If you are planning to go to the 2009 HLAA Convention in June, you have an opportunity to get a 25% refund on your registration fee. All you have to do is volunteer for 8 hours sometime during the convention. See the below entries for more information.
See you on the 12th and invite others to come with you!
