This is just a reminder that our Knoxville HLAA Fall Kickoff Meeting is next week! We will meet next Thursday, September 11th at 7 p.m. at Bearden United Methodist Church. It is located at 4407 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN. Come to the back and follow the signs. We have many new faces coming and I hope you all will plan to come! There will be light refreshments provided.
I am still working on getting a transcriber to caption/transcribe the meeting for us. If you know of anyone who can help us, let me know. I have much information to share and have some great ideas for our group as well.
Also, I have started a Yahoo Groups site so that we can keep in touch and share information and get updates with one email address. Just go to www.yahoogroups.com, click on Groups, and search for Knoxville HLAA and join. You will need a Yahoo ID to join but can have emails and notifications sent to the email address of your choice (the current one you use). If you would like a invitation to join, email me. (You don't need an invitation to join but the invitation provides you with a link.) So far only 13 people have joined. This would help me tremendously getting messages to you with one email address. You would also have the option to send and receive emails with the group with one email address and everyone would see it. Our Knoxville HLAA group email is knoxvillehlaa@yahoogroups.com but you will need to join to receive the emails, special news from HLAA, and notifications.
Also, several members have expressed some concern about the location of our meetings because they have to travel quite a distance to get to Bearden. Marlene Hinds found a new location for us in West Knoxville and we will finalize those details later this month. There will be a new location starting with our OCTOBER meeting.
One of the topics I will be discussing are nominations/suggestions for Vice President, Treasurer/Snack Organizer, & Website Manager for our group. This is YOUR group and I will need your help. If you are interested in any of these responsibilities or want more information, please contact me privately by email.
