Service Dogs!

Our March meeting was well attended and very informative. Tiffany Denyer of Wilderwood Lead Dogs in Maryville came and spoke to our group. The two dogs that she and her partner brought with them were darling and well behaved! You may read about her project HERE.

We asked lots of questions and learned a lot. Service dogs that are being trained for the hearing impaired are trained differently than other service dogs. It takes up to three years to train a service dog before it can be placed in a home and the cost from start to finish is approximately $12,000. Wilderwood Lead Dogs is a non-profit organization and appreciates donations and volunteers for this wonderful project.

We have an exciting meeting planned for April and hope you will join us!

March 9th Meeting

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to remind you of our meeting coming up on March 9. We have a really special program planned that you won't want to miss!!! Tiffany Denyer will be joining us to tell us about Service Dogs...........this would include hearing dogs which she has trained for many years. She will also be bringing a service dog with her for to demonstrate their abilities. This should be a very interesting and informative program.

Refreshments will be provided by Glenda Carter.

I look forward to seeing all of you there (and yes, I WILL be there!).

Take care!

Jerry
