This is to advise everyone that it was decided at our last meeting on October 20th to cancel the upcoming November meeting. Evelyn and I will be out of town and cannot attend. We are going down to Mississippi with some others from our church to help with the clean up of Katrina and Rita.......please remember us in your thoughts and prayers. We will be gone November 7th through the 12th.
Since we didn't have a guest speaker lined up (we were going to do the silent auction and a few other things on our own) we decided it would be best to just cancel and pick up in December for the December 8th meeting.
Speaking of the silent auction, we also discussed bringing items you no longer use which may be of use to someone else in helping them with their hearing loss. We would also "auction" these items and use the proceeds to bolster (or start) our chapter "kitty". Be looking for some these things and we may end up with some really good "stuff".
Those of you who missed our meeting really missed a great time and a terrific guest in Dr. Merwin. His presentation on cochlear implants was very informative and interesting. He was very patient with our questions and his presentation ended up being two hours.
